Yoga, Youth, and Reincarnation

EPUB EBook by Jess Stearn

EBook Description

This book was good, and very progressive for it's age (published in 1956), despite a few closed- EPUBminded references to homosexuality and women here and there. Yoga, Youth, and Reincarnation EPUB EBook But again, it was 1965, and it was more the author's speculation than anything tangible.
Speaking of, I did enjoy this book, but I wish I knew how much of it, or what things in particular, were factual. From what I've briefly read on Jess Stearn, he was definitely a "new age" writer, touching on things like spirituality, the occult, reincarnation, psychics, etc. Also, I've read that what he specialized in was "sensationalist speculative non-fiction". Which almost makes him, essentially, a tabloid writer. He certainly had experiences with trained yoga instructors, but there's so many things I couldn't help but question.

However, the technique, method, and process is there, complete with black and white photos of Marcia (his tutor, or "yogi") in perfect form. And an appendix at the end with the poses and postures used, including instructions. Most have a drawn figure as an aid, and many even list benefits to certain poses.

I had been a bit interested in yoga prior to reading this book. Now, despite a questionable account of Stearn's experiences, this has only strengthened my interest in this subject. Like this book? Read online this: 21 Things to Know Before Starting an Ashtanga Yoga Practice, Reincarnation.
